Requirements Management:
What happens when you deliver an application to your Business Partners and they say,“This is not what we thought we were going to get!!!”. Is this a result of the architectural design? Is this a result of the development, or is this a result of the Requirements? Who owns the delivery of a business solution that meets the expectation of the Business?
Join us on November 19th as we explore— in an interactive discussion—the answers to be above questions, as well as what techniques are being employed to mitigate the exposure of delivering business applications that do not meet business expectations.

Message from Immediate Past President - Cecil Jones

-Imagine attending a seminar and encountering someone who encountered the same problem that you are up against at work and can help you navigate through it
-Imagine meeting a CIO at a cocktail reception sponsored by a Fortune 500 company and receiving an email from the CIO with an invitation to lunch a while later
-Imagine a Fortune 500 company that has a major technology presence in several cities and you work from your home four days out of five. The IT managers tell you all of the good (and bad) surrounding their company environment, providing you with the 'real' information that you need about that company

Call For Nominations - President Elect?
In order to more fully engage the general membership in the operations of BDPA Columbus, an update was made to the Chapter bylaws, effective September 12, 2009. As part of this update, the role of Strategy & Planning Vice President as President Elect was implemented. The term of the Strategy & Planning VP provides continuity for the Chapter by providing a means for the chapter’s strategic direction to move forward while also providing a forum for the VP to learn the roles and responsibilities of the position from the incumbent President.

BDPA members, did you know that when you make your pledge to the United Way campaign you have a choice of where and how your donated funds will be used? Yes, that's right! United Way agencies, throughout the United States, have options referred to as either Open Donor Choice, Donor Designated, Contributor Choice, or Specific Care. Federal government employees can donate to BETF using Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) code #11174. While the names are different, each is an option that allows the giver (you) to directly specify a 501(c)3 organization as the recipient of your donation. BDPA Education & Technology Foundation (BETF) is that tax-exempt organization for the local BDPA chapters.
