Call For Nominations - President Elect?

In order to more fully engage the general membership in the operations of BDPA Columbus, an update was made to the Chapter bylaws, effective September 12, 2009. As part of this update, the role of Strategy & Planning Vice President as President Elect was implemented. The term of the Strategy & Planning VP provides continuity for the Chapter by providing a means for the chapter's strategic direction to move forward while also providing a forum for the VP to learn the roles and responsibilities of the position from the incumbent President.

As Strategy & Planning VP, the office holder shall be responsible for leading the BDPA Columbus Strategic Planning Committee, the Bylaws & Procedures Committee and the Project Management Office. Upon transition of the incumbent President to the community outreach focused role of Immediate Past President, the Strategy & Planning VP would assume the responsibilities of Chapter President. The current Chapter President term expires on August 31st 2010. The President elect shall serve as Chapter President for a term of 2 years (2010-2012).

What does our next Strategy & Planning Vice President look like? You may have come to know the candidate through their participation in BDPA Columbus Information Exchange meetings.? In addition, the candidate has typically demonstrated a commitment to BDPA through a Chapter leadership role (Executive Board, Standing/Ad Hoc Committee or Project Lead). As you'd expect, a candidate for this office has been financially current as a full member for at least the six month period up to their nomination.
