Sr QA Engineer - Test Automation

Position Purpose:
Are you passionate about software quality? Are you a hands-on QA Engineer that has EXPERT QTP skills? Are you detail oriented and motivated to do all you can to ensure an ideal experience for our customer support and field teams? If so, Redbox is looking for YOU!!

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to work with a team of developers and testers engineers in assuring the quality of our internal support applications. At Redbox, you're not just clicking around to make sure things work as they should. You'll be working closely with our software developers, project managers, support staff, and other members of our IT, to support the quality of our customer and field support software applications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Develop automation test cases from technical specifications and stories, analyze system test plans, and possess the ability to convert these test cases into automation scripts.
· Collaborate with software developers in the design, development, and maintenance of QTP automation scripts.
· Create and maintain test scripts and test traceability matrices that measure the quality of software products, releases, and features throughout the software life cycle.
· Execute manual test cases to meet group deadline dates.
· Fully own the automated test process as it relates to automation development and execution of Corporate System applications.
· Possess an aptitude for technical concepts.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
· Excellent communication skills and strong problem solving abilities.
· A "can-do" attitude through personal initiative is a must.
· Must excel in planning and prioritization skills while demonstrating flexibility and the ability to multi-task and work under minimal supervision.

Experience / Education:
· Must have at least 3+ years of QTP experience. (Must have EXPERT experience in QTP - Not just record and playback, need to code in VB Script!)
· Strong experience in creating high level test plans/strategies, detailed test cases, documenting defects, gathering defect metrics and reporting test results.
· Very strong experience with MS SQL relational databases with the ability to create SQL queries from scratch.
· Experience with software version control tools such as Subversion, Visual Source Safe or ClearCase is preferred.
· Have a working knowledge of fundamental Test Engineering principles and Testing Methodology.
· Agile/XP SDLC experience is preferred.
· Some development experience in dot NET technologies, scripting languages added plus

Database administrator role will designs, develops, and implements complex physical databases across multiple platforms, technologies and computing environments. Position will be responsible for ongoing system capacity planning, forecasting, tuning, monitoring of database performance, implementing database architecture strategies and other database administrative support duties. Consults with clients and collaborates with internal ERP PeopleSoft application & technical specialists regarding potential issues, risk and solutions to current or proposed environment changes.

CUSTOMER FACING ASSIGNMENT MUST BE US CITIZEN AND CURRENTLY (NOW LIVING) LOCAL TO COLUMBUS OHIO

To be considered QUALIFIED for this PEOPLE SOFT DBA position submitted candidates must have these required skills:

1) Strong database development and production support experience in a UNIX/Linux-based Oracle environment.

2) Strong knowledge of Oracle 10g, 11g, Oracle security, UNIX shells - Korn shell, bash, perl. Good knowledge of UNIX - AIX, Solaris, HP-UX or Linux.

3) Experience with PL/SQL and cloning technologies.

4) Strong database and process tuning abilities. Experience with performance tuning and trouble-shooting skills with large databases (in excess of 1tb).

5) Expertise in backup and recovery and fail-over methods and best practices.

6) US Citizen

7) Submitted candidates must CURRENTLY be local to Columbus, Ohio

DESIRED skills/experience


1) Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field

2) 5+ years of experience in database administration, preferably in support of PeopleSoft applications

3) Ability to write clear documentation of operating procedures.

4) Strong communications skills - this is a client facing position

Preference will be given to candidates that meet the required skills and also are seasoned and experienced with these additional skills:


1) Experience in RMAN backups. Knowledge of Oracle RAC, Dataguard, OEM Grid Control, Oracle VM, Partitioning.

2) Oracle Certified Database Administrator
