In 2002 Larry moved to the storage team and helped the team create its first storage utility using Storage Area Network (SAN) technology, eventually holding several positions in that group from engineering, architecture, and finally product management before moving to the managed services team in GTI.

2011 Chapter Major Highlight
In August of this year, our High School Students placed 3rd in the national competition. Congratulations to our students for a job WELL DONE! A team of 7 high school students were able to travel to Chicago and compete in the 33rd Annual 2011 BDPA High School Computer Competition. The 2011 BDPA Columbus High School Team included Jacob Wilson, 12th grade; Wesley Walker, 10th grade; Raqiyah Burrell, 9th grade; Pandora Brown, 9th grade; Yusuph Mkangara, 10th grade; Devon Howard, 11th grade, and Asha Bridges, 9th grade. Our volunteer instructors worked diligently and patiently with them on Thursdays and Saturdays at the Alum Creek Campus of DeVry University for 20 weeks. They learned Application Development in a .Net environment, Web Development, Database Design and Development using MySQL, Storyboarding and Teamwork. These are marketable skills they have gained.
We are excited to share with you that the 2011 BDPA Columbus High School came in THIRD PLACE out of 19 participating teams nationwide. This is the first time that Columbus has ever placed among the Top 5 teams. This is an outstanding accomplishment and they could not have pulled this off without the encouragement, support, and commitment from our volunteers, sponsors, parents and students themselves.
