Accepting Applications for Spring Class
Now through February 1

The Ray Miller Institute for Change and Leadership is currently accepting applications for its spring class, which will be held April 5 - June 11, 2010.

Established on the premise that the Black community continues to be faced with a number of issues that if allowed to persist may reach epidemic proportions, the Ray Miller Institute for Change and Leadership aims to cultivate the skills necessary for effective leadership by instilling in young people a sense of social consciousness and as well as sense of urgency.

The 10-week course provides leadership training in critical areas such as: identifying community needs and resources; effective communication; ethics and values; grassroots organization; media relations; organizational and business development; relationship building; and philanthropy. The Institute is open to anyone aged 21 or older who has a desire to become a change agent within his/her community. Applications are available online and are due by 5pm, Monday, February 1, 2010, to AAAS CEC, 905 Mt. Vernon Ave., Cols., OH 43203, attn: Carla Wilks.
